Kem is no stranger to the music scene. In fact, the Detroit native, whose come along way since waiting tables, first left an imprint with his debut album Kemistry. The album, rereleased in 2003, would go on to sell over 500,000 records with the help of Motown Records. This past Friday, November 6th, the r&b crooner stopped in Los Angeles for his Promise To Love tour with special guest Tamar Braxton and support from opening act, L’Renee. The singer performed for a mostly full crowd, of an average age of 30-40 something African American music lovers. His showed proved, that although over the age of 40, he still has it. In the photo gallery above, you see moments of him connecting with his dancers on stage. It was my first time seeing him perform live, and definitely won’t be my last. While, he’s most notable for ‘Love Calls’ and ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You,’ the singer also has more recent songs such as ‘It’s You.’ The performance included a special tribute to Earth Wind & Fire, along with short video clips of inspiration about Kem’s journey as an artist. A definite stand out from the show would had to have been his phone call skit with his lover, which definitely seemed to get all the ladies rowelled up.
